Tianyu Zhou is an internationally acclaimed Chinese - Canadian concert pianist. She is also an actor, singer, music producer and model. Born into a family of musicians, her father is a renowned film composer and her mother is a pianist. As a concert pianist, Tianyu has concertized in many parts of the world, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Austria, Holland, Poland, Spain, Italy, China, Israel, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and more. She performed in many major concert halls such as Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, Jerusalem Music Centre, Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall, Shanghai Oriental Arts Centre Concert Hall, Shenzhen Concert Hall, Barcelona Arts Centre, Wiener Saal Salzburg, CBC Glenn Gould Studio, etc. Tianyu has toured more than 30 cities in China with Poly Theatre Management.

She won the Grand Prix of the 29th Scholarship Pianists’ Tournament in Ostrów Wielkopolski as well as a special prize for the “Best Interpretation of Chopin” in Poland. During the same month, Tianyu was also honoured to receive an invitation to perform for the President and the First Lady of both Poland and China at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Poland. 

Tianyu was invited to participate in the Aspen Music Festival 2021 as a recipient of the Polonsky Foundation Fellowship in Veda Kaplinsky, head of The Juilliard School Piano Department and Hung-Kuan Chen’s class, Lucerne Piano Festival Masterclass, International Mozarteum Summer Academy, The International Holland Music Sessions and festivals such as the Karol Szymanowski Music Society in Zakopane, the 2nd Chopin evenings on Okólnik Street open-air concert at The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, the “Spring with Frederick” festival took place at the Pless Castle and Palmiarnia City Gliwice in Poland. 
 
She has a wide range of repertoires.  She gave her first public performance of Bach's Goldberg Variations at the age of 18 and has concertized the Goldberg Variations internationally joint by series of other repertoires in one recital. She has also performed numerous concertos with symphony orchestras in Canada and China.
 
When Tianyu was only 11 years old, she has already been named as “Wonder Kid” by Toronto City TV channel across Canada, and was featured in an interview broadcasted in prime time. She was also featured exclusively on the Piano Artistry Magazine in China, China Daily News, Music Weekly Magazine, Today’s headline news in China and Vancouver City TV. She has also been invited to feature on the Beijing Music Station 97. 4fm's “Classics and Pop Times”, live on the RTHK radio 4 in Hong Kong, Xiamen radio 90.4fm and live concert broadcasted on Hubei TV in China.

Tianyu studied with Arie Vardi at the Buchmann- Mehta School of Music, Tel-Aviv University. She studied with Wojciech ÅšwitaÅ‚a at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music where she received her Master Degree with the highest distinction. She also studied with Lee Kum-Sing at the Vancouver Academy of Music and with Marina Geringas at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto. 

Tianyu also had the chance to work with great artists such as Christoph Eschenbach, Murray Perahia, Dmitri Bashkirov, Andrzej Jasinski, Matti Raekallio, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń and Ferenc Rados.


Tianyu is multitalented.
Since Covid, Tianyu started pursuing an acting career and is currently signed under Performers Management
as well as developing her passion for music producing, songwriting and singing.
She recurred on CW's Kung Fu Season 3. She also released 6 singles. Tianyu is currently working on her upcoming EP which will be released around summer 2024. 

Tianyu also works in the film music industry as her piano music and composition is featured on the TV series "Fourty Nine Days·Fiesta" directed by Li Zhang​ and she was also recently featured on the TV Series "The Power Source" directed by Weining Mao singing the Theme Song "Zheng Feng" and was ranked #6 on China Music Billboard. This TV Series was aired on CCTV 1 prime time in China as well as on Hunan TV and Mango TV.
